S+A approached us because they were at an important transition point. They were a mid-size Canadian engineering firm with a distinguished history, but their image was out of sync with the young, dynamic staff who now defined the life of the firm. What started as a project to create a new identity became something deeper. As we continued to work for the firm, we had a chance to gain a more nuanced portrait of the firm by doing Q & A sessions with many of the key players, revealing a positioning that would have otherwise been opaque. What distinguishes S+A from the larger engineering firms is how it mentors young professionals and encourages them to pursue their areas of interest within the firm. This created areas of expertise for the firm, while also fostering a deep sense of commitment from the staff, helping to attract the best and brightest to the firm.
